The 10th Birthday Party and UK Country Music Awards 2017

Our 10th Birthday Party And UK Country Music Awards took place on Saturday 2nd September 2017 at Radisson Blu Hotel, East Midlands Airport.

The event was hosted by presenters Allan Watkiss and Liz Hill.

The evening began with a live performance in the hotel reception from Gary Perkins...

The main show began with a superb set from Steve Young. He performed at the event for the second year running, this time with his band.

Throughout the show, guests were invited to the stage to announce the winners of The UK Country Music Awards, presented by to recognise the best in UK country music. Lily Garland announced Cartwheels by Ward Thomas as UK Country Album Of The Year

The evening included the live final of the Listeners' Club Song Award, presented to an artist of songwriter for a song promoted through The first Finalist to take to the stage was Angela Paterson, performing her song "Yesteryear"...

Following the first course of a dinner celebrating 10 years of, Listeners' Club Song Award Finalist December performed their song "George Jones".

Guest were treated to a solo acoustic performance from Roni


Penny Jayne Black announced Gary Perkins And The Breeze as UK Country Group Of The Year for the second year running.

After main courses, it was a fourth Birthday Party & UK Country Music Awards appearance for London-based band Grand Prairie

The next award was for UK Country Singer Of The Year. The Award was sponsored by Number 24, Upton on Severn's premier gift shop. Angela Conway from Number 24 announced Zenne as the winner, for the second year in a row.

London-based songwriter Wayne Jacobs was next to the stage to perform his song "Stars And Stripes Of Freedom", another Finalist for the Listeners' Club Song Award

After desserts, Kent-based family band Orfila announced Raintown as UK Country Duo Of The Year

Gary Perkins then performed his second set of the night, this time on the main stage.

The UK Male Country Singer Of The Year was sponsored by Abbey Motorcycles of Dumfries. Crispin Bardsley from Abbey Motorcycles announced Gary Quinn as the winner.

Attendees were shown videos of the two remaining Listeners' Club Song Award Finalists: "Sonoma and Sistine" by Tom Fairnie and "Nothing Lasts Forever" by Zenne before casting their votes.

We were then treated to a superb main stage live set from North Wales family band Blue Genes

Chloe Chadwick came to the stage to announce Wayne Jacobs as winner of the Listeners' Club Song Award with "Stars And Stripes of Freedom".

Producer and musician Justin Johnson, who had earlier performed with Steve Young and Blue Genes, returned to the stage to announce Thorne Hill as the winner of the night's top award, UK Country Artist Of The Year.

The evening was concluded with a fantastic live set from one of the UK's newest country bands, Angels With Dirty Faces.
