Alan Potter
Alan has been a country music broadcaster since the 1960s and is like a walking encyclopedia of country music. He has interviewed over 200 big name stars, including Johnny Cash, Reba McEntire, Don Williams, Martina McBride, The Bellamy Brothers, Trisha Yearwood, Chely Wright and Billie Jo Spears.
In our opinion, there's no one better qualified to bring some added spice to our Sunday Country Music Goldmine. Tune in at 9am as Alan brings you an hour of classic country music, and shares some of the stories he's picked up through his many years of mingling with country music's legends. If you can't catch the show first time round (because of your Sunday morning lie-in perhaps), then you can also hear it at 9pm on Sunday night.
Prior to the Sunday Country Music Goldmine, join Alan for The Gospel Hour - an hour of inspirational music by country artists at 8am each Sunday morning.
Alan also presents a monthly programme called "Cowboys And Indies". There are many great people making great country music without the promotional backing of a big record label. Alan showcases some of their music in this programme which you can hear on the second Tuesday of every month at 8pm, repeated the next day, Wednesday at 4pm.

* He was a guest of the Canadian High Commission in 1995 where he interviewed Sylvia Tyson
