Help to keep UKCountryRadio.com on the air...

The following is a personal message from UKCountryRadio.com founder Allan Watkiss, dated October 2011...

"UKCountryRadio.com has now been broadcasting for over four years and is put together by a dedicated group of radio professionals and country music enthusiasts, all working on a voluntary basis.

We knew from the outset that UKCountryRadio.com would not be vastly profitable - our intentions were simply to provide an enjoyable listening experience for country music fans in the UK, and to provide a platform for UK-based country music artists to get their music heard.

We remain committed to our underlying principles:
* To not charge anyone for listening to our radio station through subscription fees
* To not resort to carrying adverts for irrelevant products such as cars, carpets and cheap loans
* To keep our advertising costs for UK-based artists wanting to promote their music through UKCountryRadio.com at a reasonable level.

Running the station is, however, not cheap and, as our audience increases, so do our costs - most notably the unfair and unrealistically high charges levied by the music licensing authorities in the UK.

UKCountryRadio.com raises revenue through advertising and promotional services offered to country music artists. While these revenues are on the increase, they are still not enough to cover our costs and, as the New Year approaches - and along with it our annual music licensing bills - we have no choice but to turn to our loyal listeners to ask for their help.
