The Awards 2014


Congratulations to Raintown - winners of our first UK Country Artist Of the Year Award.

The Award was presented less than two weeks before the wedding of the Glasgow band's singers Paul Bain and Claire McArthur.

Receiving the Award, Claire said "We're so happy to have won. To have just been nominated in the category with all those great artists was great. To have won, we're just delighted. And we're shocked as well".

Wayne Jacobs
Wayne Jacobs was the winner of our Listeners' Club Song Award 2014 for his song "In Cold Blood".

The song, one of dozens of original songs written by the London-based writer, tells the true story of a homeless man, shot dead on the streets of Nashville.

Receiving the Award for the third year running, Wayne said, "I'm really touched. I can't believe it. I wrote the song 'In Cold Blood' about a homeless man. It's a sad song. I just sang it from the heart and had it produced in Nashville and I'm just over the moon".'s Seventh Birthday Party And Awards were held at The Best Western Premier Yew Lodge Hotel, Kegworth, Derby on Saturday 13th September 2014.

Guests were treated to a three-course dinner, celebrating our first seven years of playing the hottest country music for the UK and providing much-needed platforms for UK country music artists to showcase their talents.

The newly-formed Elbow Jake Acoustic Band welcomed guests on their arrival, before the main show was opened in style by six-piece live band Grand Prairie.

UK Country Artist Of The Year finalists Gary Quinn, Raintown performed live sets, before fellow finalist Thorne Hill filled the dancefloor for a final set supported by his band Arizona Storm. founder Allan Watkiss performed a handful of songs with the help of guitarist Richard Freeman, while the five Listeners' Club Song Award Finalists Geraldine Pointing of Interactive Murcia, Kelly Michelle, Lucy Zirins, Suzanna Shore and Wayne Jacobs each performed their song.

The show, broadcast live, was hosted by's Allan Watkiss who said, "This really has been our best Birthday Party yet and we are already working on plans to make our Eighth Birthday Party in 2015 even better. Thank you to everyone who came along to celebrate our first seven years, the team who made it all happen, and to our Award Winners Raintown and Wayne Jacobs."
